Solids

Solids are a state of matter characterized by a fixed shape and volume due to the strong intermolecular forces holding their particles closely together. Unlike liquids and gases, solids do not flow or take the shape of their container. They can be crystalline, with an orderly atomic structure, or amorphous, with a random arrangement of particles.
